Tim Gidal– TV Face ,1970s

Tim Gidal ( Journaliste et enseignant) adhéra au mouvement sioniste assez tôt, mouvement qui lui permit de découvrir la photographie. De 1928 à 1931 il étudia le droit, l’histoire et l’histoire de l’art aux universités de Berlin et Munich.

En 1929, après avoir déjà publié des travaux, il se consacra à la photographie de reportage. Il termina ses études à Bâle et alla passer deux mois en Palestine, où il finit par s’installer.

Tim Gidal fit un reportage en Inde sur le Mahatma Gandhi, ce qui lui apporta une renommée mondiale. En 1942 il s’engagea dans l’armée britannique et fit des photos pour leur magazine, jusqu’en 1944. À partir de 1947, Tim Gidal travailla de nouveau à son compte, toujours en tant que reporter.

Cette photographie est peu représentative de son Oeuvre.
